International Education Professionals

Online training courses suitable for those living overseas.

Our SpLD qualifications are suitable for a wide range of international education professionals including teachers, teaching assistants and other practitioners based in a classroom setting.

Please note:

  • Courses have different pre-entry requirements please see on the individual course pages
  • The CPD programme replaces the former Dyslexia Action Hornsby: Alpha to Omega course.

CPD Short Courses: Dyslexia, Literacy and Numeracy Level 4 and 5 (online)

Suitable for qualified classroom teachers, teaching or learning assistants, study skills tutors and those based overseas, our CPD courses are all delivered online and do not require access to a student or a learner. You will be given tutor support through forums on Moodle, our virtual learning environment.

Award Courses (online)

Award Courses contain three set CPD Unit Courses (20-30 hours of study per unit over a seven-week period). There are set start and assignment submission dates.  Paying for an Award of three set Units upfront and make a saving of £10 per unit).

This Certificate cannot be booked outright, you either select to pay for the six Units individually or book the two Awards above.

The Level 5 Diploma in Strategic Teaching Support for Dyslexia and Literacy-DADIP61 

The Level SpLD Teacher/Practitioner Level 5 Diploma is a unique online training qualification which is flexible and is undertaken part-time and enables you to become a specialist SpLD teacher (with QTS/PGCE) or practitioner (those without QTS/PGCE) across all age ranges. Participants will gain access to the unique resources of the Dyslexia Action Literacy Programme (DALP) a tailored specialist teaching programme.

The Level 5 Diploma pathway route is made up of:

  • The Certificate in Supporting International Learners with Dyslexia (DACRT67)
    PLUS
  • The Level 5 Certificate in Strategic Teaching Support for Dyslexia and Literacy (DACRT60)

If you are a graduate you may be interested in our fast track Level 5 Diploma as a quicker alternative route.


Postgraduate Level 7 Professional Courses for SpLD Teacher/Practitioner/Assessor

The Professional Postgraduate Level Certificate and Diploma courses in Dyslexia and Literacy are a unique and prestigious programme at Master’s level 7 that provides training to become informed practitioners and specialist teachers and/or assessors. The courses are modular and flexible and are undertaken part-time, through online learning.

Dyslexia Action Social Emotional and Mental Heath (SEMH) Level 5 CPD Programme short course units are designed to strengthen the expertise and confidence of SENCo’s, teachers, teaching assistants and support tutors in order to ensure the progress and achievement of children/adults with special educational needs.  CPD courses allow professionals to develop and enhance their current skills and understanding
