Dyslexia Action’s Professional Programme Assessment Test Loan Scheme

Postgraduate programme course participants are not always able to purchase some assessment tests directly from test publishers until they have successfully completed their chosen course. Dyslexia Action is able to offer a scheme whereby assessment tests required for modules D and E on the Professional Certificate in Assessment Practice for Dyslexia and Literacy (L7) or Professional Diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy (L7) are made available to course participants on a ‘loan and retain once qualified’ basis. Course participants should note that such tests may only be used for course purposes until such time as the person borrowing the test is fully qualified to use the test.

Key facts about the scheme

  • Assessment tests are purchased at full cost (minus 10% offered to all Dyslexia Action course delegates) by the course participant through the Dyslexia Action Shop.

  • The full purchase price will be paid plus a postage fee if applicable (tests over £150 do not incur postage charges for UK addresses. Overseas postage costs available on application).

  • Tests supplied will be new and will be retained by the course participant for the lifetime of the course.

  • The loan scheme covers the purchase of full test kits only; separately available components of a test (for example record forms, response booklets etc) cannot be accessed using the loan scheme.
  • On successful completion of the course, the loaned test will be owned and retained by the participant for their professional practice.

  • Tests are not returnable once the course has been successfully completed.

  • Should you withdraw from the course or fail a module then the assessment test(s) must be returned to the Dyslexia Action Shop and up to 40% of the loan price will be returned depending on the condition of the test once received.

  • The cost to return tests on this basis will be met by the candidate.

  • Details of the assessment tests available can be found on the application form (see below).

What to do next if you have booked module D or E?

If you have booked module D or E you will need access to specific tests in order to complete your work. If you have access to the required tests already then this is not relevant to you. However, if you do not have access to the relevant tests you need and you are not currently suitably qualified to purchase them from the publisher you might like to join the scheme. To do that you need to:

  1. Complete and return the form by email to shop@dyslexiaaction.org.uk or post to Alexandra Allen at Dyslexia Action Shop, Real Group Ltd, Canterbury Innovation Centre, University Road, Canterbury CT2 7FG
  2. Register with Dyslexia Action Shop to create an online account.
  3. Contact the shop to advise us that your online account has been set up and activated by calling +44 (0)1784 222339 or emailing shop@dyslexiaaction.org.uk. We will supply you with a one-use discount code.
  4. Purchase the required assessment tests through the Dyslexia Action Shop checking your discount has been applied to your basket before submitting. Your order will now be processed.

Note: Please allow up to 5 days for your order to be fulfilled so do ensure you have left enough time between placing your order and starting your course.
