Level 5 Diploma in Strategic Teaching Support for Dyslexia and Literacy (DADIP61)

Why take this Diploma?

DADIP61– This Level 5 Diploma has been designed as a training programme for teachers, teaching assistants or support tutors who would like to gain further experience in supporting individuals with dyslexia/SpLD.

The course gives participants to access and training to a specialist literacy programme that can be used to provide literacy intervention to individuals of any age.

How the programme works?

Part one of the Diploma: A CPD Pathway

Participants are not able to enrol directly for the Diploma instead they enrol for the separate courses that combine to make the Diploma. Applicants can choose from one of three possible pathways depending on their working setting as follows:

Literacy CPD Pathway
DACRT51 Level 4 CPD Certificate in Supporting Literacy in Learners with Dyslexia
This Certificate is made up of two awards: DAAWD51 and DAAWD52 click here for further information and to book

Supporting Adults CPD Pathway
DACRT56 Level 5 CPD Certificate in Supporting Adults with Dyslexia and Co-occurring Difficulties
This Certificate is made up of two awards: DAAWD59 and DAAWD60 click here for further information and to book

International Pathway
DACRT57 Level 5 CPD Certificate in Supporting International Learners with Dyslexia
This Certificate is made up of two awards: DAAWD51 and DAAWD57 click here for further information and to book

Part two: The Level 5 Certificate in Strategic Teaching Support for Dyslexia and Literacy (DACRT60)

On completion of one of the above Pathways, participants can progress to the Level 5 Certificate in Strategic Teaching Support a specialist teacher training course. This level 5 Certificate course is the second part of the Diploma qualification and provides an introduction to a structured specialist teaching programme that can be used in school or college settings or with individuals of any reading age in private practice. How is the programme delivered?

The core curriculum is delivered by means of a range of e-learning resources. These include presentations, articles, exercises, videos and follow-up activities and tasks for participants to carry out at intervals. This course includes a Teaching Intervention Programme which the participant will undertake with one learner within their school/work environment.

Entry Requirements

This course can be studied by candidates who have completed and received results for any of the
following Pathway Certificates:

Qualified specialist teachers with a Level 5 or Level 7 specialist SpLD teaching qualification who wish to gain an introduction and practical experience of the Dyslexia Action Literacy Programme are also eligible to apply for the Certificate course (DACRT60).

Part 2: If you have already completed the six units required for the pathway to the Level 5 Diploma you can now apply for the:
Level 5 Certificate in Strategic Teaching Support which makes up the second part of this award.

Accreditation

The Level 5 Diploma (DADIP61) confers eligibility for Associate Membership of the Dyslexia Guild (ADG) recognized as the first grade of professional membership for a specialist teacher.

The Level 5 Diploma is also accredited by the British Dyslexia Association for Approved Teacher Status or Approved Practitioner Status (ATS/APS) and approved by The CPD Standards Office.
