Becoming Dyslexia Friendly
A dyslexia-friendly approach can bring a number of benefits to companies:
Help them to realise the particular strengths of their workforce
Encourage staff to access training, gain qualifications and apply for promotion
Reduce stress, staff turnover and sick leave
Improve motivation and loyalty
Improve efficiency and provide a better service for customers
What is more, adjustments made for staff with dyslexia are often easily achieved and can benefit the whole organisation.
To become dyslexia-friendly a company can:
find out more about dyslexia
identify workplace issues
use effective communication methods
encourage and support employees
create a dyslexia-friendly customer interface
develop a culture of acceptance
Dyslexia Action can assist companies to develop a policy and code of practice for working with dyslexic staff, trainees and customers. Contact our
outreach team
or your local
Dyslexia Action Centre
for more advice.
