Dyslexia Guild Summer Conference 2012

We are holding our annual Dyslexia Guild Summer Conference on Thursday 28th June 2012. 

The Conference will be focusing on 'Improving Achievement for Learners with Dyslexia' and is open to all. 

Time: 9:30am - 4:00pm

Venue: University of Nottingham, Jubilee Campus 

We are very pleased to announce our keynote speakers:

  • Dr Joni Holmes from Cambridge University will be presenting a paper on Working Memory and Learning Difficulties.
  • Dr Lindsay Peer CBE, Educational and Chartered Psychologist, will be speaking on “The Role and Influence of the Dyslexia Specialist in the Mainstream Classroom” and is recognised as an expert in the range of specific learning difficulties, SEN and was appointed CBE for services to Education and Dyslexia. She published the first groundbreaking book linking ‘Glue Ear’ with Dyslexia. 
  • Also presenting a paper is Professor Sheila Riddell the Director of the Centre for Research in Education Inclusion and Diversity. 
  • Dr Amelia Roberts will be bringing us up to date with The Professional Development Framework that helps specify what is needed to help teachers to plan the journey towards obtaining the knowledge and skills for current roles and career progression through training, mentoring and study. 


There will be a range of breakout seminar sessions to choose from and the opportunity to visit the exhibition area to see specialist publishers and suppliers and network with colleagues.
